Arise News Channel has barred political analyst Anthony Kila from appearing on its platform following allegations concerning the authenticity of his academic credentials.
The decision was announced in a disclaimer issued by the network’s Editorial Board titled “Investigation: Anthony Kila’s ‘Degrees’.”
In the statement, Arise News disclosed that Kila, who had appeared on the channel several times as a freelance political analyst, became the subject of an investigative report by Premium Times Newspapers.
The network said it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, to seek his response to the allegations. According to Arise News, he requested additional time to respond but had yet to do so 10 days after being contacted.
The channel added that the allegations had continued to worsen, making his continued contributions to its programmes untenable.
