A recruitment poster circulating online is inviting Nigerians to apply for what it describes as the Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2026, Batch 39 exercise.
According to the poster, applications would be conducted online, with categories including Seaman/Naval Ratings, Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), and Commissioned Officers, covering regular combatant and non-combatant positions.
The poster also lists Nigerian citizenship, relevant educational qualifications such as SSCE/WAEC/NECO, and compliance with stipulated age, height and physical requirements among the conditions for prospective applicants.

It further displays October 31, 2026 as the purported application closing date and directs applicants to a website presented as the Nigerian Navy recruitment portal.
However, the poster itself carries a prominent “FAKE” marking, and its dates do not correspond with the recruitment information currently displayed on the Nigerian Navy’s official recruitment website. The official site currently identifies the exercise as NNBTS Batch 38, with application dates of October 2–31, 2025, and an aptitude test scheduled for November 29, 2025.
The Nigerian Navy has also published official documents relating to the Batch 38 recruitment process, including the list of successful candidates and instructions for the 2026 training.
Prospective applicants are therefore advised to verify any announcement through the official Nigerian Navy website before submitting personal information or making any payment. The Nigerian Navy’s main official website is also available for public notices and updates.
