Popular Gospel Singer, Toluwanisings Is Dead

Pelumi Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), has expressed grief following reports of the death of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.

Olajengbesi announced the development in a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday, where he prayed for God’s mercy upon the singer.

His message also reflected broader concerns about the deaths of young Nigerians.

“My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings,” he wrote.

He added that the deaths of young men and women were deeply troubling and insisted that untimely death was not God’s plan for them.

“We say no to untimely death!” he declared.

Comedian Woli Agba also reacted to the development, urging people not to give up hope and saying prayers for a miracle were continuing.

“Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please,” he wrote on Instagram.

However, the circumstances surrounding Toluwanisings’ reported death had not been disclosed as of the time of reporting.

The news comes after the recent death of gospel artiste Joshua Acheme Edache, known professionally as Nutty Josh, following injuries reportedly sustained in a motorcycle training accident in Abuja.

Nutty Josh, who hailed from Benue State, was said to have suffered the accident about five weeks before his death.

He reportedly experienced persistent headaches and difficulty breathing afterwards. Following a return to the hospital, further examinations reportedly revealed internal injuries.

The singer received additional medical care and was later placed in a medically induced coma.

The developments have prompted sadness among gospel music followers, while further information about Toluwanisings remains awaited.
