Nollywood star Laide Bakare has taken aim at fellow actress Eniola Badmus after a viral video appeared to show Badmus reacting with a hiss and a change in facial expression when Bakare’s name was mentioned during a podcast interview.
The incident occurred during a conversation involving popular Nigerian skit maker Isbae U, who named Bakare among his favourite actresses. A clip from the interview subsequently circulated online, attracting attention to Badmus’s reaction.
Bakare responded to the video through a strongly worded Instagram post, accusing her colleague of repeatedly attempting to damage her reputation in public.
The actress expressed anger over what she considered another instance of disrespect, saying she had warned Badmus on previous occasions to stop making comments or gestures that could negatively affect her public image.
Bakare described Badmus in unflattering terms and alleged that her colleague had decided to bring her down at all costs.
She also claimed that she had played a role in Badmus’s growth and expressed disappointment over what she perceived as a lack of gratitude.
“Must you Always damage my character publicly? Several times I have warned you to stop,” Bakare wrote.

She questioned Badmus’s facial expression when Isbae U mentioned her name, suggesting that the reaction was particularly upsetting because of their history.
Bakare further insisted that she would not allow the incident to pass without addressing it.
“I will never allow someone else’s insecurity to become my distraction. I know my journey, I know my worth, and I know how much it has taken Me to get here,” she stated.
The dispute has once again placed the relationship between the two actresses under public scrutiny. Their disagreements have previously played out on social media, and reports have also linked their rivalry to a confrontation on a film set.
The latest controversy has generated renewed interest in their relationship, although the full context behind Badmus’s reaction remains unclear from the circulating clip.
As of the account provided, Badmus had not publicly responded to Bakare’s latest accusations.
