Former Big Brother Naija contestant Ijeoma Emi, widely known as Mercedes, has appealed to music executive Don Jazzy for assistance in securing a home of her own, citing concerns about her safety and the limitations of her current living arrangement.
Mercedes made the request in an emotional social media post, explaining that life after the reality television show has been more challenging than some people might imagine.
The 26-year-old entrepreneur and performance artist said many people assume that appearing on Big Brother Naija automatically leads to financial success, but she is still working to establish herself and build a sustainable career.
She described herself as a young woman trying to find her place in the world rather than someone who has already achieved the comfortable lifestyle associated with celebrity status.
In her appeal to Don Jazzy, Mercedes explained that having her own apartment would give her greater independence, security and peace of mind.

She also disclosed that her present accommodation had created difficulties for her work as a content creator and pole dancer.
According to her, the ceiling in the house is unsuitable for mounting a pole indoors, leaving her with little choice but to practise on the balcony.
The arrangement, she explained, makes regular training difficult because sunlight, rain and other weather conditions frequently interrupt her sessions.
Mercedes said a suitable home would allow her to install her pole safely, practise more consistently and produce content that could support her professional development.
She stressed that her request was not about enjoying a luxurious lifestyle but about obtaining the basic stability necessary to pursue her ambitions.
“I’m not asking for a luxury lifestyle. I’m asking for a chance to stand on my own feet, feel safe, and reconnect with the woman I know I can become,” she said in her message.
The former housemate acknowledged that Don Jazzy receives many requests for help but appealed to him to consider her circumstances.
Her post has generated reactions among fans and social media users, some of whom have called for assistance for the aspiring performer.
Mercedes’ appeal reflects the financial and practical challenges that can accompany life after reality television, when public recognition does not necessarily translate into consistent income.
While her request has attracted attention, the available report does not indicate whether Don Jazzy has responded or agreed to provide assistance.
