I Have Stopped Impregnating Women – 2Baba

Nigerian music icon 2Baba has generated fresh discussion after telling an audience in Canada that he no longer impregnates women.

The singer, born Innocent Idibia, made the declaration during his performance at Rehab Lounge in Calgary on Saturday.

While performing his hit song True Love, he paused to interact with fans and jokingly searched for his true love among the women in attendance.

He asked whether the woman he was looking for was standing at the back of the venue or somewhere in front of him, prompting a playful exchange with the audience.

2Baba then spoke about his experiences with women, claiming that he had stopped getting women pregnant.

“For the purpose of this show, I will pretend like I’ve never seen anything before. Where’s my true love? Is she back there? Is she right here? Is she somewhere here?” he said.

He added that some women were reluctant to respond when he made such comments, but insisted that he was not afraid to make his declaration.

The singer’s remarks have attracted attention because of his much-discussed personal life and previous marriage.

2Baba was married to Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, with whom he shares two children. Their separation became public in January 2025.

The performer has continued to draw attention both for his music and for comments about relationships made during public appearances.

His statement in Calgary appeared to be part of a humorous interaction with concertgoers while performing a song centred on love.

Although the remark has generated online reactions, it was made in a live entertainment setting, and the report does not provide further clarification about whether it was intended as a serious personal announcement.
