Actress Uche Ogbodo has urged women to stop enduring unhappy relationships at the expense of their self-worth, advising them to establish clear boundaries and walk away when their needs are consistently ignored.
The Nollywood star made the remarks during an interview with Saturday Beats, where she discussed marriage, fidelity and the responsibilities partners owe each other.
Ogbodo said she believes marriage should involve equal commitment, arguing that men who expect faithfulness from their wives should also remain faithful themselves.
She criticised men who use sexual desires to justify infidelity, maintaining that individuals should exercise self-control rather than make excuses for behaviour that hurts their partners.
“I am an advocate for 50-50 in marriage. If you want me to be faithful to you, stay faithful to me,” she said.

The actress also encouraged women to understand their values, practise self-love and identify their non-negotiables before committing to relationships.
According to her, women should assess whether their emotional and personal needs are being met instead of remaining in relationships that continually cause unhappiness.
“I am not an advocate for suffering and smiling. If it is not working, you don’t have to die there,” she stated.
Ogbodo further warned that psychological and emotional abuse should not be overlooked simply because there are no visible physical injuries.
She explained that making a woman feel inferior, worthless or less desirable than another partner could seriously affect her self-esteem.
The actress stressed that some men are disciplined and understand the principles of healthy relationships, distinguishing them from those who repeatedly excuse harmful conduct.
Her comments underscore the importance of mutual respect, fidelity and emotional well-being in marriage, while encouraging women to make decisions that protect their dignity and happiness.
