The Nigerian Army has inaugurated the Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja Complex at the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), reaffirming its dedication to enhancing military logistics, professional education, and institutional capacity.
The facility was commissioned in Lagos by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu. The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, stated the complex is designed to enhance professional military education, administrative efficiency and the welfare of personnel in line with the Army’s institutional development agenda.
The complex is named after the late former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja and is expected to boost NACOLM’s capacity to train logistics professionals whose expertise is critical to sustaining military operations and enhancing operational readiness across the Nigerian Army.

The facility is not only adding administrative infrastructure but also strengthening the institutional framework for the development of personnel responsible for logistics planning, resource management and operational support, highlighting the essential function of logistics in modern military operations.
Speaking at the event, Lt Gen Shaibu said the late Lagbaja was an outstanding military leader whose professionalism, integrity, selfless service and commitment to national duty continued to inspire officers and soldiers.
The naming of the complex after the late Army Chief is a demonstration of the Nigerian Army’s appreciation of his contributions to leadership, force development and operational excellence while preserving his legacy within one of the army’s premier training institutions, he said.
The Chief of Army Staff called on officers, instructors and students of NACOLM to emulate the discipline, professionalism and dedication shown by the late General Lagbaja in the discharge of their duties.
He said that sustained investment in training institutions, modern infrastructure and personnel welfare remains central to his vision of building a more professional, adaptive, combat-ready and resilient Nigerian Army, capable of effectively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency security environment.
The commissioning of the complex underscores the Nigerian Army’s continued interest in strengthening the institutional foundation that supports operational effectiveness, leadership development and long-term national security preparedness.
