Operatives of the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) have arrested the embattled Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, in Osun State.
Confirming the arrest, the Osun State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Biodun Ojelabi, said the operation was carried out by a special team from the Force Headquarters in Abuja, noting that the state command only confirmed the development and did not participate in the operation.
According to Ojelabi, Adeyemi was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday at his hideout in Osun State.

“We are aware that the individual parading himself as the Director-General of the controversial PFIPC, Adeyemi, was picked up today in the state,” Ojelabi said.
He added that the arrest was effected by operatives of the FID-IRT from Force Headquarters, Abuja, but declined to provide further details on the intelligence that led to the suspect’s location.
The arrest followed a bench warrant issued by Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, after Adeyemi failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment.
Adeyemi is expected to face an eight-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation over his purported operation of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), an agency the Presidency has repeatedly stated does not exist.
The court’s arrest order paved the way for Tuesday’s operation, bringing the suspect into police custody ahead of his arraignment.
