ROTARY DISTRICT 9127 HOLDS POLIO AWARENESS WALK IN ABUJA

Rotary District 9127 held a polio awareness walk in Abuja on Saturday to sensitise the public on the importance of vaccination and the global effort to eradicate the disease.

The walk witnessed the participation of the District Governor, Rotarians and other participants, who took to the streets to raise awareness about polio prevention and the need to protect children against the disease.

Polio is a highly infectious viral disease that can cause permanent paralysis, particularly in children. Although it is preventable through vaccination, sustained public awareness and immunisation efforts remain essential to preventing its spread.

The awareness walk reflects Rotary’s continued commitment to the global eradication of polio through advocacy, community mobilisation and support for vaccination campaigns.

Rotary continues to work with governments and health organisations to ensure that every child is protected against this preventable disease.

Together, we can end polio.
