The United States has delivered new military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force to strengthen counter-terrorism operations and regional security.
The equipment was flown into Nigeria aboard a U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft over the weekend under a Foreign Military Sales agreement, according to the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM).
AFRICOM disclosed the delivery in a post on X on Thursday, describing it as “partnership in action” between the United States and Nigeria.

The command said the equipment would support Nigeria’s efforts to counter terrorism in the region and further deepen defence cooperation between both countries.
The delivery comes amid expanding U.S.-Nigeria security cooperation in areas including intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, military training and defence support.
AFRICOM said the development demonstrates both countries’ commitment to strengthening their partnership in addressing regional security threats.
